What is Hatha Yoga?

Hatha can be directly translated as meaning "force" or "wilful" as the active path to yoga, or as “sun” (ha) and “moon” (tha), as the yoga of balance

Taken together, hatha yoga can be described as a set of willful and active practices including asanas (yoga postures), pranayama (yoga breathing), mudra (body gestures), bandha (energy locks) and shatkarma (internal cleansing), that aim to achieve harmony and balance in the mind, body, and spirit.

Angela’s classes are relaxed and friendly, with an emphasis on function over form and breath led movement. You will always be encouraged to modify and adapt the practices in class to suit your needs, it is often the case that we wont all be doing the same thing.
